Felisha first captivated Raheem from across the courtyard at Santa Fe High School in the fall of 2008. He tried hard to impress her but to no avail. One day, the following year, he mustered up the courage to talk to one of the prettiest girls he wished he knew. In his version of the story, he was as cool as a polar bear’s toenails. Felisha insists that he just stared at her in the lunch line of the cafeteria, awkwardly mesmerized by this young lady’s beauty.

Although they tell slightly different stories about the way that it happens, a puppy love story and a beautiful saga was shortly underway. Felisha and little Ja’khia would forever be a part of Raheem’s journey. After high school, the two of them went their separate ways but continued to value their friendship from afar. Felisha graduated from the University of Florida with a BSN, and Raheem started a teaching career. The two of them decided to go on their second first-date a couple of years ago, and the rest is history.

Raheem would meet his match in Felisha’s second daughter, Aniese. She will tell you that she, Felisha and Ja’khia are the best things that have happened to him. Felisha and Raheem, however, hope that the best is yet to come.
